<p>Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 11 November 2025 &#8211; Global new energy technology giant GT PowerSafe has reached a historic agreement with the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) to secure a $5 billion strategic investment. The two sides will jointly build the world&#8217;s first gigawatt solid hydrogen storage system production line, the core technology of the revolutionary nanoporous metal-organic framework (MOFs) material, hydrogen storage density of 7.5wt% (3 times higher than high-pressure gas tanks), plans to 2027 for the NEOM New City thousands of hydrogen energy heavy trucks. This move marks that the cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia in the field of green hydrogen has entered a deep coordination stage of technology joint research, capital joint investment and market joint expansion.</p>



<p>Technological disruption: Cracking the &#8220;impossible triangle&#8221; of hydrogen storage<br>GT PowerSafe&#8217;s &#8220;H2Core™&#8221; solid-state hydrogen storage system has achieved three major breakthroughs:</p>

The technology has been awarded a $1.5 billion joint development order by Porsche and Ningde Times, and the first products will be equipped with 2026 Taycan supercharge and 500MWh energy storage FM power stations in the Yangtze River Delta.</p>

The plant uses revolutionary plasma dismantling + hydrogen reduction and purification technology to process 200,000 tons of decommissioning lithium batteries annually, the recovery rate of lithium, cobalt and nickel metal exceeds 99.5%, and the carbon emissions per ton of battery recycling are reduced by 92% compared with the traditional fire process, marking China&#8217;s first to achieve the goal of zero waste in the whole life cycle of power batteries.</p>
